Terms of Service

What this is
Crescendo is a habit, sleep and journalling app that computes statistics on the data you enter. You may use it for your own purposes, for free or on a paid plan.
It is not medical advice
This is the important part. Crescendo reports correlations in data you supplied. A correlation is not a cause, the app cannot tell the difference, and it makes no attempt to. Nothing it shows you is a diagnosis, a treatment, or a substitute for talking to a doctor or a therapist.
If you are struggling with your mental or physical health, please speak to someone qualified. An app that noticed your mood was lower on Tuesdays is not that.
Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself. If you think someone else has it, change it — doing so signs out every other device.
- One person per account. Sharing one means sharing a journal.
- You must be 16 or older, or have a parent or guardian's consent if your country sets a lower threshold.
Your content is yours
You own everything you write. We hold a licence to store and process it only so far as is needed to run the product for you — draw your screens, compute your statistics, and send you the reminders you asked for. Nothing more. We do not use it to train models and we do not publish it.
Paid plans
- Prices are shown before you are charged, and include applicable tax.
- A trial converts to a paid subscription at the end of its term unless you cancel. We will tell you before that happens.
- Cancelling stops the next charge and keeps your data. It does not delete your account.
- If something is broken and we cannot fix it, ask for a refund and you will get one.
Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what that removes and what survives. We may suspend an account that is being used to attack the service or to harm someone else.
Availability
We aim to keep it running and will not pretend to a guarantee we cannot honour. The service is provided as-is. Where the law allows us to limit liability, our total liability is capped at what you have paid us in the previous twelve months — and where it does not, this clause does not apply to you.
Changes
If we change these terms materially we will tell you in the app and by email before it takes effect, and you can close your account if you disagree. Minor clarifications will simply appear here with a new version date.
